Danica Cheng is currently an oboe and english horn player of the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, and is active in performing and teaching in Shenzhen and Hong Kong. He was invited to be the judge of the 36th Macau Youth Music Festival Competition.

Born in Hong Kong, Cheng started learning the oboe at the age of six and has won many awards at the Hong Kong Inter-School Music Festival. At the age of 16, he obtained a diploma in oboe performance from the Trinity Conservatory of Music in London, England. In the same year, he performed Mozart's Oboe Concerto with the Hong Kong Youth Orchestra as a soloist at the Aberdeen International Youth Music Festival in Scotland, UK.

Cheng graduated from the Department of Music of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and then received a scholarship to study at Temple University in Philadelphia, USA, and obtained a master's degree in oboe performance. During his studies, he studied under Peter Smith, James Hwang, Alice Wong and Danny Yau. He also participated in master classes by Francois Leleux, Ingo Goritzki, Alex Klein, Nancy Ambrose King and Yeon-hee Kwak.

Before joining Shenzhen Philharmonic Orchestra, Zheng has performed in different orchestras, such as Concert Opera Philadelphia Orchestra, Hong Kong City Chamber Orchestra, Chinese National Orchestra, Asian Youth Orchestra, etc., and performed in many places, including the United States, United Kingdom, Hungary, Czech Republic, Vienna, Vietnam, Singapore, China, Taiwan, Japan, Russia.
